Truly breathtaking from the moment you arrive, the Getty Villa is a replica of a 2000 year-old Roman villa, which once overlooked the Bay of Naples near Pompeii, Italy. It is famous for its formal sculpture garden lined by tall, white Roman columns and surrounded by an immense crystal blue reflecting pool. Inside the museum, there are 40 exquisite galleries on two floors with rooms lavishly embellished with marble and gold. The rooms themselves are works of art as are the treasures displayed within them. Not to be missed is the very controversial bronze statue "Victorious Youth", an ancient male nude that historians attribute to Alexander the Great's personal sculptor, which was plundered by Roman soldiers around the time of Christ. Purchased by The Getty in 1977, it is now part of an international scandal and trial as the Italians want it back. The coach departs at 8 am sharp from Celebrity Tours, 4751 E. Palm Canyon Dr. in Palm Springs, and returns to the desert around 6 pm. Participants are asked to be at Celebrity Tours by 7:45 am. | ||||
| This trip is now SOLD OUT and reservations are closed. Thank you for your support! |

| Donations Welcome | ||||||
| While we are always grateful for your donated food items (canned and boxed non-perishables only, please), your cash contribution will go even further to feed those in need. We are able to purchase food at pennies on the dollar from the local distribution center. A box of cereal or can of tuna that costs you $2 or more is available to us for less than $1. Please consider making your gift in dollars instead of foodstuffs. We are always pleased to receive donations and the gratitude of our Food Pantry clients is immeasurable. Click on the Donate button below to contribute now. | ||||
| We continue to encourage you and your friends to drop off any unused canned and non-perishable food items in your pantries. You may bring them to the Golden Rainbow Senior Center from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. We regret that we cannot accept opened items. In addition, Casswood Insurance Agency and the Desert Business Association (DBA) have teamed up to decorate, place, and service GRSC Food Pantry collection bins around the Greater Palm Springs Area. Bring your food item donations to any of the following locations: | ||||
| If you are a business or service organization and are willing to host a collection bin, please call us at 1-760-416-7790 and let us know. | ||||
